9-December Choose Your Behavior
John 15:17 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
Have you ever puzzled over this verse knowing you’ve asked God for some desire and it never came to pass? It causes a lot of pain when job seekers ask for jobs and don’t get them. But notice what has to be true if our desires are to come to pass. His words have to abide in us. Our desires have to match His desires.
It’s commonly known that people who live together and love each other tend to become more and more alike. It’s the same with us as we dwell in Jesus. When our desires come from Him and our words match what He has said, we can count on them coming to pass. This is one more reason to seek the Kingdom and the King. Then our words will have power and our desires will be satisfied.
DECLARE THIS:
• I will to will the will of God. My desires and words match my King’s.
• By faith I claim God’s Word over all my circumstances.
• I willingly release my demands and invite God to fill me with His words and desires.
