10-October Choose Your Behavior
Psalm 91:4 …His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.
This scripture gives us insight into the enemy’s tactics. He attacks in the night with terror, waiting until we’re alone in the dark to start with every fearful thought he can bring. In the day, when we’re out with others, he sees to it that negative and condemning comments fly at us like arrows. When we can’t see him, he arranges for diseases to come into us through toxic emotions and stress. In the middle of the day, on every news broadcast, he publishes reports of widespread destruction.
Those are his tactics. “But it will not come near you.” Why? Because we have God’s shield all around us. We are hidden under the shadow of His wings and the Enemy cannot reach us there.

• I am not moved by what I see or by what I hear. I believe what God says about the matter.
• The things that are happening to others do not apply to me. I am Christ’s ambassador and subject only to the rules of His Kingdom.
